– Energy Charge – How much energy you use in a month, measured in kilowatt-hours (kWh).
– Peak Demand Charge (kW) – This charge is for the highest monthly demand (kW) during the peak hours of 5 pm – 9 pm (excluding Sundays). Starting January 1, 2026, the peak demand charge will be $1.00 per kW. If your demand reading is 5 kW, your peak demand charge will be $5.00.
– Service Availability Charge – The service availability charge is a flat, monthly fee charged per meter, and it is not dependent on how much energy you use. The charge exists to cover the cost of bringing power to your meter, including such things as electrical wire, transformers, poles, maintenance and administrative costs, regardless of the amount of electricity you use.
