Michelle Lehmann was first appointed to the Gunnison County Electric Association (GCEA) Board on July 26, 2016, to serve the remainder of the district 4 term and was elected to the Board June 27, 2017. Michelle currently serves as secretary/treasurer. She also serves on the Budget, Finance, and Audit Committee, Financial Goals Committee, Board Policy, Rules and Regulations, and Bylaws Committee, and the CEO Goals Committee. Additionally, Michelle serves as the delegate for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and the Cooperative Finance Corporation.
Michelle has earned the Credentialed Cooperative Director, Board Leadership, and Director Gold certifications from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
A fourth-generation rancher from the Powderhorn Valley, Michelle earned degrees in Human Resource Management and Accounting from Colorado Mesa University (formerly Mesa State College) in Grand Junction. Michelle has been active in the Gunnison 4-H program, Gunnison Valley Cattlewomen, and the statewide group Colorado Cattlewomen. She has also been appointed to serve on the Colorado Beef Council board. Michelle and her husband Tim continue their ranching tradition, managing approximately 10,000 acres of private land in Gunnison and Saguache counties. They are parents of two young adults.
