Frank was elected to the Gunnison County Electric Association (GCEA) Board June 18, 2024. Frank currently serves as our secretary/treasurer and most recently served as our vice president and previously as our assistant secretary/treasurer. Frank chairs the Budget, Finance, and Audit committee, the Rate Design committee, and the Board Policy, Rules and Regulations, and Bylaws committee. He also serves on the Financial Goals committee and the Technology committee. Additionally, Frank serves as our alternate delegate for special and annual meetings for Tri-State G&T and as an alternate representative for Western United Electric Supply.
Frank has earned the Credentialed Cooperative Director certification from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
Frank has a Master of Science degree in engineering with a focus on building energy systems. He has over 30 years of experience in the electric utility industry with a focus on green energy programs, wholesale energy markets, asset valuation, and financial restructuring. A member of GCEA since 2004 and a registered professional mechanical engineer in the State of Colorado, Frank recently retired from his consulting career. He has been a ski instructor at CBMR, a former officer of two Gunnison County HOAs, and is vice president of the board of the Elk Mountains Backcountry Alliance. He is also a volunteer for the Nordic Center, the Crested Butte Mountain Bike Association, Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory, and the Crested Butte Mountain Theatre. Frank offers a sincere pledge to be responsive to all GCEA members’ questions and concerns. Frank and his wife Caroline McLean make their home in the Crested Butte area. They have two adult children.
