GCEA is in the process of installing a new community solar garden on the roof of its headquarters’ shop building. The inverters for the community solar project at HQ are hung and the roof racking system is being installed.
The array is anticipated to be approximately 101 kW, which is 5 times the size of the current solar garden in Crested Butte. Beginning this fall, GCEA will be leasing 342 solar panels in the Gunnison Community Solar Garden at an affordable rate. The leases are month-to-month or annually.
GCEA is currently working with other entities to develop additional community solar arrays and hopes to have one or more additional projects completed this year as well.
