Results are in for the elections of association members to seats on GCEA’s Board of Directors. For the board seat filled by association members residing in District 1, Crested Butte, Greg Wiggins defeated Frank Stern and will continue as a director for a fifth term. Greg Wiggins received 831 votes (57.1%) and Frank Stern received 624 votes (42.9%). Michelle Lehmann of District 4 and Tom Carl of District 5 were unopposed in the election. Tabulated votes for these seats were 1,153 for Michelle Lehmann (District 4) and 1,188 for Tom Carl (District 5). The total number of valid ballots cast in the election was 1,512 which is 16.95% percent of the 8,921 eligible member votes.
Results for the association name change passed with 1,225 (91.8%) votes in favor of changing the legal name to Gunnison County Electric Association. 109 (8.2%) votes were cast against the name change.
