Electric Resistance Water Heaters & Electric Heat Pump Water Heaters

Electric water heaters use heating elements to heat the water in the tank. Heat pump water heaters use electricity to move heat instead of using electricity to generate heat, making them much more efficient than traditional electric water heaters. You can find more information about heat pump water heaters on the Department of Energy website.
