LED Bulbs / Fixtures with LED Lighting Built In
Energy efficiency advocates know that light emitting diode (LED) lighting is the wave of the future. An LED bulb equivalent to the 100 watt incandescent bulb draws only 19 watts and could easily last 50,000 hours. By comparison, an energy efficient CFL equivalent to a 100 watt incandescent bulb would draw about 23 watts and last about 10,000 hours.
The energy savings achieved by using LED bulbs is remarkable, but the $5 to $25 (or more) price for one bulb can be a hard sell to most consumers. This is why GCEA and Tri-State Generation and Transmission are offering rebates to members who purchase select LED bulbs.
LEDs must be 500 lumens or greater (lumens are a measure of brightness equivalent to a 50 watt incandescent light bulb).
Rebate Amount: 50% of lamp/fixture cost capped at $8 per lamp.
Eligibility: GCEA member with active account.
Restrictions: Maximum 50 bulbs/fixtures per account each year for installation within GCEA's service area. All rebates must be submitted for processing within 120 days of installation.
Proof of purchase such as receipt and/or invoice, Lighting Facts label showing lumens for each different type of LED purchased, and signed application required. Contact our Energy Use Specialist at 970-641-3520 with questions about qualified fixtures with LED lighting built in.
Disclaimer: Some LEDs may not qualify due to restrictions imposed by Tri-State rules and regulations. Members can verify whether bulbs/fixtures are qualified before purchasing by calling GCEA's Energy Use Specialist at 970-641-3520.
