Energy Efficiency
Tips ....

10-20% of warm air from your home can be drawn into the chimney flue. You can spot a leaky damper by closing it and holding a lit candle inside the firebox. If the flame moves around or blows out, air is going up your chimney.

To resolve the problem, hire a chimney sweep for a good cleaning and to check the damper. It could reduce your annual heating bill by $500.

GE Hybrid water heater

Savings without sacrifice

The latest in water heating technology. To create the next generation of water heaters, GE redesigned this appliance from the ground up. The result is a revolutionary new product that can reduce water heater expenses up to 62% and save $320 every year.* For more information visit www.geappliances.com/GeoSpring

How does it work? It's like a refrigerator in reverse. A compressor and evaporator are integrated into the unit to draw in ambient heat from surrounding air using two variable speed fans. Coils wrap the tank all the way to the bottom and transfer heat to the water inside the tank.

GCEA is now offering rebates for the GE Hybrid water heater purchases through our Energy Efficiency Rebate Program. For more information, contact GCEA at 970-641-3520 or 1-800-726-3523.

*Based on DOE test procedure and comparison of a 50-gallon standard electric tank water heater using 4879 kWh every year vs the GeoSpring hybrid water heater using 1856 kWh every year.
