Tips ....

10-20% of warm air from your home can be drawn into the chimney flue. You can spot a leaky damper by closing it and holding a lit candle inside the firebox.If the flame moves around or blows out, air is going up your chimney.

To resolve the problem, hire a chimney sweep for a good cleaning and to check the damper. It could reduce your annual heating bill by $500.

GCEA Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

 

GCEA has partnered with Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association to expand our Energy Efficiency Rebate Program. Members may receive rebates for any of the energy efficiency measures listed in the table below.

LED Holiday String Lights

GCEA and Tri-State offer this program during the holiday season. Members may receive a credit to their GCEA account for the purchase of LED string lights. The credit for a string of less than 50 lights is $1; the credit for a string of 50 or more lights is $2. Rebate Form

Buck-A-Bulb Program

GCEA is offering compact fluorescent light bulbs to its members for just $1 a bulb. Compact fluorescent bulbs are available in 40-, 60-, 75-, and 100-watt equivalents and may be purchased at the GCEA Headquarters in Gunnison, or through GCEA's Crested Butte office.
