Take Advantage of Heat from the Sun

Open curtains on your south-facing windows during the day to allow sunlight to naturally heat your home, and close them at night to reduce the chill you may feel from cold windows.

AAUW Weatherization Project

 

Thanks to a grant from the American Association of University Women, GCEA is offering Energy Efficiency/Weatherization Workshops for Women. The purpose of the workshops is to educate women about energy loss in their homes and how they can take measures to increase their homes' energy efficiency.

 

Participants will learn basic skills and techniques for installing weather-stripping, insulation, and other energy efficiency measures that are proven to lower utility bills. The workshops will take place in local area homes where participants will learn how to problem solve and have the opportunity to get hands-on experience. Stay tuned for more information.
