10-20% of warm air from your home can be drawn into the chimney flue. You can spot a leaky damper by closing it and holding a lit candle inside the firebox.If the flame moves around or blows out, air is going up your chimney.

To resolve the problem, hire a chimney sweep for a good cleaning and to check the damper. It could reduce your annual heating bill by $500.

Director Districts

 

The general area in which members are located or reside is divided into seven districts with each district being represented by a director.

 

 

A more detailed description of District Boundaries is available for public inspection during normal business hours at the Association offices in Gunnison and Crested Butte.

 

Board of Directors

The business and affairs of the Association are managed by a board of seven Directors.

District No. 1 - Bill LaDuke - 3 year term expiring June 2011.

The northwest corner of the certificated service area of the Association, including the Town of Crested Butte and the Slate River area along Colorado State Highway 135 to approximately one half mile north of the Jack's Cabin cut-off.

 

District No. 2 - Chris Morgan - 3 year term expiring June 2013.

The northeast corner of the certificated service area of the Association, including Mt. Crested Butte and Gothic to the Continental Divide.

 

District No. 3 - Bart Laemmel - 3 year term expiring June 2013.

The Ohio Creek and Taylor River Drainage Areas beginning approximately one-half mile north of the Jack's Cabin cut-off to the City of Gunnison service area on the south and extending to the western and eastern boundaries of the certificated service area of the Association.

 

District No. 4 - George Besse - 3 year term expiring June 2011.

The Gunnison River area west of the City of Gunnison, Curecanti recreation area, to the West Elk Wilderness area on the north and the Continental Divide on the south within the certificated service area of the Association.

 

District No. 5 - Paul Hudgeons - 3 year term expiring June 2011.

The Lake Fork of the Gunnison drainage from Gateview to the Continental Divide, including Lake City and Lake San Cristobal within the certificated service area of the Association.

 

District No. 6 - John Vader - 3 year term expiring June 2012.

The Tomichi Creek area east of the City of Gunnison to the Continental Divide within the certificated service area of the Association.

 

District No. 7 - Lou Costello - 3 year term expiring June 2012.

This District shall be considered an "at-large" district encompassing the entire certificated area of the Association.

 

A member from any of the Association's districts may seek nomination for the position of Director of District 7, subject to the nomination and election procedures applicable to all other Districts.
